Republic Services Extra Early Slurry Sealing Week Garbage Collection 2026

My side of the neighborhood got their streets slurry sealed during the last week of July 2026, so I was curious how it would affect Friday residential collections. The notice told us to have our carts out by 6 AM, earlier than normal. I still figured my drivers would start normally and just do my side of the neighborhood 1st thing and as quickly as they could, but I got up early in case. I'm glad I did, because I heard 2408 and 2570 before 6:30 AM! Turns out, 6 drivers clocked in at 5:30 AM, an hour early, to service my side of the neighborhood as fast as they could. My drivers each had a driver help them, and they finished it by 7:30 AM. I'm almost certain these are the earliest residential collections in my neighborhood to date, the 2nd earliest being Halloween in 2025. I wasn't able to get 3 clips each of Amado on recycle or Lupe on trash, so I filmed more clips of Manuel and Eddie, and I also wasn't able to film Villa's help driver, someone in a 520 CP Rapid Rail, and whoever came for bulk, as I missed that, too, so I filmed additional clips of Villa in the early morning and Eddie in the late afternoon on Amado's section of my neighborhood. It was very difficult to film as many trucks as I could before 7 AM since Villa, Eddie, and Manuel all came to my alley back-to-back within half an hour of each other. With the early start time, my neighborhood was finished before 4:30 PM. Since Amado helped Manuel on recycle 1st thing in the morning, he was behind on his route. They saved his section of my neighborhood for last since that section wasn't affected by the slurry sealing, and Eddie helped Amado finish it since Eddie finished his route early.
