Ajay Chowdhury on Dog Mom at Southwark Playhouse | Wolfe in the Wings — Part 1

Tristan Wolfe meets theatre director, crime novelist and Shazam’s first chairman, Ajay Chowdhury, to talk about Dog Mom at Southwark Playhouse Borough. In Part 1 of this Wolfe in the Wings interview, Ajay discusses a comedy about loneliness, starting again and the unexpected joy of canine companionship. We explore adapting its central character, Sarita, into an Indian woman in her 50s, how human actors bring the dogs to life, and what audiences can expect from the production. There’s also a little chat about Ajay’s own dog, Lulu. Dog Mom runs at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 14 October to 7 November 2026. Look out for Part 2, where we discuss Ajay’s extraordinary career in theatre, technology and crime writing. Subscribe to WolfInTheWings.com for more theatre interviews and reviews.
