“Don’t Lecture Us on the Emergency!” |Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad on Rahul Gandhi | BJP

Senior BJP Leader Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad addressed the Emergency debate during a press conference at BJP Headquarters in New Delhi, responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the subject. He recalled the Emergency imposed in 1975 under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and argued that Congress should acknowledge its historical record before raising the issue. He also referred to the role of Communist parties during that period and emphasised that BJP leaders had opposed the Emergency. Ravi Shankar Prasad Ji challenged Rahul Gandhi’s narrative, saying those who experienced and resisted the Emergency have their own perspective on that chapter of Indian democracy.
