Why Independence Pass is Colorado’s Most Impressive Fall Drive

2.5 hours of Colorado Rocky Mountain scenic driving through intense fall colors on Independence Pass. In this video we drive the complete pass in both directions beginning in Aspen and heading east on Colorado Route 82 to Twin Lakes where we turn around and see the pass from a new perspective as we head west back to Aspen. Along the way we'll surpass 12,000 feet at the summit and explore the alpine tundra landscape way up above the tree line. This drive was recorded in the middle of October at peak autumn color on a perfect day for a pleasure cruise through the Rockies. We've included some drone shots and side views to get even more amazing views of the phenomenal landscapes and the wonderland of foliage. Independence Pass is part of the Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway and takes us through the White River National Forest.
