But there is a fascinating question surrounding this incredible place… *Was Sigiriya really connected to King Ravana from the Ramayana? 🤔🔥* In this video, I explore the massive Sigiriya Rock, climb towards the ancient palace, see the famous Lion's Paws, ancient gardens, frescoes and breathtaking views from the top. I also talk about the **Ravana connection and the legends associated with Sigiriya**, while exploring what history and archaeology actually tell us about this remarkable ancient fortress. According to UNESCO and Sri Lanka Tourism, Sigiriya became the capital and royal fortress of **King Kashyapa I in the 5th century AD**. The archaeological site contains impressive gardens, water-management systems, frescoes, defensive structures and the remains of a palace complex on top of the rock.
