Mound City Blue Blowers -Whitley Bay 2018 Set#28

Whitley Bay International Classic Jazz Party 2018 Set#28 4th November 12 pm. The Mound City Blueblowers from St Louis featured the comb playing of William "Red" McKenzie (1899-1948). This re-creation is led by Nicholas D Ball playing the role of Josh Billings on suitcase, multi instrumentalist and band leader Andy Schuum plays the part of Red McKenzie on comb while Spats contributes the vocals of Red. This is an excellent recreation of a very popular band of the 1920s, music rarely heard and never before seen before in the 21st century. (From the programme notes by Brian Goggin).
