The First 20 Minutes

Introducing Newsling. Children are growing up in a world shaped by social media and AI. How do we help them make sense of what's happening around them, think for themselves and understand others? Newsling is a daily, 20-minute classroom programme that uses what's happening in the world to help children develop critical thinking and kindness. No personal screens. No feeds. Just children thinking, discussing, listening and writing together, guided by their teachers. We began at R.N. Podar School in Mumbai and are delighted to welcome Bombay International School, DPS Gurgaon and The British School in New Delhi as founding schools. Early research led by Prof. Nandini Chatterjee Singh at Ashoka University is showing encouraging results in critical thinking and kindness. We're also collaborating with Teachers College, Columbia University, BITS Design School, The Trust Project and The Critical Thinking Institute. We're excited to bring Newsling to more classrooms.
