Inside META STORE New York City We head inside Meta Lab New York on Fifth Avenue for a full POV tour of Meta’s latest AI-powered smart glasses, eyewear and VR technology. Located at 697 5th Ave, New York, NY 10022, the two-floor Meta store was packed with people trying on the newest glasses. We explore the entire space, check out the different styles and lenses, and show the prices of every product along the way. A major focus is the Ray-Ban Meta lineup. These smart glasses combine traditional eyewear with cameras, microphones, open-ear speakers and Meta AI. They can take hands-free photos and videos, play music, make calls, send messages and let you interact with Meta AI. Some capabilities allow the glasses to use their camera and AI to help answer questions about what you’re looking at, translate conversations and provide information without constantly pulling out your phone. We also get a close look at the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Limited Edition. The Matte Transparent frame showcases some of the electronics inside and is paired with brown mirror lenses. According to the display at Meta Lab, this limited-edition Wayfarer features advanced AI, enhanced capture capabilities and extended battery life, and is available in limited quantities only at Meta Lab. Featured throughout the store are the Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Gen 2, Ray-Ban Meta Headliner Gen 2, Ray-Ban Meta Skyler Gen 2, Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer Limited Edition, Meta Adventurer, Meta Blayzer Optics Gen 2, Meta Scriber Optics Gen 2, Meta Fury, Oakley Meta Vanguard, Meta Quest headsets and more. Smart glasses have also generated controversy, particularly around privacy. Because cameras and microphones can now be built into glasses that look increasingly similar to conventional eyewear, some people are uncomfortable with the possibility of being photographed or recorded by someone wearing them. There’s also a much bigger question surrounding this technology: could AI-powered glasses eventually replace the smartphone? Today these glasses still rely on a phone for many functions, but Meta and others are pushing toward a future where wearable AI could handle more of the things we currently reach for our phones to do. Photos, video, calls, messages, music, navigation, translation and AI assistance could increasingly happen through a pair of glasses instead. Upstairs at Meta Lab, there’s even a live DJ spinning records while shoppers test out the technology. This is an immersive POV walkthrough of the entire store — experience Meta Lab New York on Fifth Avenue as if you were there.
