The route towards Phugtal takes you through some of the most astonishing terrain and challenging off-road trails in Zanskar Valley — rugged mountains, narrow tracks, rocky river crossings, loose gravel, and landscapes that feel almost unreal. After riding through the raw and unforgiving terrain of Zanskar, I finally make my way towards the incredible Phugtal Monastery, a sacred monastery built into the cliffs of the mountains.
