West Africa: Ghana Plans to Refine IMF Bailout, President John Mahama Says

Ghana President John Mahama discusses plans to refine the nation's $3 billion International Monetary Fund bailout, saying that additional funds are "not off the table." Under the current IMF program, which began in May 2023 and expires next year, the government must achieve a primary surplus of 1.5% of gross domestic product by the end of 2025, which gives it very little room to invest.
