Thousands of Eggs Collected in the Early Morning | Raising Ducks

Welcome to our farm, where raising ducks is a daily commitment that begins long before dawn. Follow along as the flock rushes down to the pond in the early morning. The farmer couple opens the barn doors and fills the feeding troughs with feed, while fresh eggs are hand-collected, gently washed, and placed into large woven baskets. Baskets filled with eggs are then carried across the red-brick yard, which is thoroughly scrubbed clean, before the eggs are graded by size in preparation for distribution to local markets nearby. The practice of raising ducks requires patience, hard work, and dedication. Harvesting duck eggs means constantly bending over, carefully picking up each egg, and placing it line by line into trays. So while farm life may look peaceful on the outside, raising ducks is by no means an easy job. Once the trays are full, they are neatly stacked for transport, and the yard is hosed down clean. Meanwhile, the ducks bask in the sun, relax, mate, and forage in the pond, coming ashore to eat from the feeding troughs whenever they get hungry.
