A plane with six people aboard lost contact during a flight from Bermuda to Boston, and the US Coast Guard said it was searching Saturday for the missing aircraft off the coast of Nantucket.
The Canadian-registered air ambulance jet had four crew members and two passengers aboard when it departed Bermuda's LF Wade International Airport overnight for the flight to Massachusetts, according to a statement from the Bermuda airport's operator, Skyport.
The Coast Guard said the Federal Aviation Administration reported that the Gulfstream G100 had lost contact very early Saturday morning. The search for the jet included crews in the air and on the water, the Coast Guard said.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it was gathering information about the situation Saturday morning but had no further update to share

Saudi Arabia is preparing a new military offensive against Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen, with plans under consideration ranging from a focused coastal assault to a broader attack on several fronts, regional and Western officials told Reuters.
US intelligence, Turkish drones and Pakistani support
Washington is already providing military advisers and intelligence, including targeting information, to support Saudi air operations in Yemen, according to a Western diplomat.
Direct U.S. combat involvement, however, is not expected. Reuters previously reported that President Donald Trump rejected requests from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for direct military support including U.S. airstrikes.
Turkey and Pakistan have also supplied military equipment used by Saudi Arabia in Yemen, Pakistani and regional officials said.
Pakistan last month sent four cargo aircraft carrying equipment including air-defense systems, light artillery, drones and counter-drone systems to Aden, the seat of Yemen’s Saudi-backed government, according to a Pakistani official.
Saudi Arabia is particularly concerned about protecting its oil infrastructure and other strategic sites from Houthi missile and drone attacks during the campaign and has sought defensive support from several allies.
Pakistan has deployed between 30,000 and 40,000 troops to Saudi Arabia to help protect the kingdom’s borders and assist with missile and drone interceptions, according to a Pakistani official. Islamabad has not decided to send troops into Yemen for combat operations, the official said.
France has meanwhile announced plans to deploy defensive systems and troops to Saudi Arabia to help protect the Red Sea port city of Yanbu.
Fractured anti-Houthi forces
Any ground offensive would depend heavily on the disparate Yemeni factions armed and trained by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates during earlier stages of the civil war.
Analysts say those forces remain divided and may struggle to sustain a major campaign against the Houthis

Saudi Arabia has carried out 94 airstrikes in Yemen over the past 24 hours, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarie claimed, according to a Friday Ynet report. The attacks were allegedly carried out using fighter jets and missiles and targeted civilian sites in the provinces of Sana'a, Saada, Taiz, Hajjah, Amran, and Al Bayda.Sarie alleged the strikes caused civilian deaths and injuries, according to the report. He also claimed that the total number of Saudi strikes on Yemen since the beginning of the escalation has reached 1,350.
The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis said on Friday that it had intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis towards the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, Reuters reported on Friday

Houthi rebels accused Saudi forces of launching 26 strikes on Sanaa on Saturday after loud explosions rocked the Yemeni capital. The Iran-backed group said it struck an oil facility south of Riyadh, where flames and a large plume of smoke were seen rising from a plant belonging to oil giant Aramco.
Yemen's Houthis claimed an attack on an oil facility near the Saudi capital on Saturday, where an AFP journalist saw flames and smoke, and accused the Gulf kingdom of striking Sanaa dozens of times. The foes have traded strikes since the Houthis seized all of Yemen's Red Sea coast and took control of the Bab al-Mandab strait in a lightning offensive last month.
