Stanley Quick Clamp Vice

Boys and Girls, I've been using this "clamp vice" for many years with satisfaction. I recently adapted it to my "Mini Tabletop"    • Mini Tabletop (for Office-work)...   and did some fact gathering surfing on the Internet. During that gathering exercise, I read a very negative review on it and followed the links where many reputed qualified "tradies" also shitcanned it. Personally I thought it was unjustified as they all just seemed to expect monumental performance from a light duty item. This item is NOT a "Triton Superjaw" (or any of it's clones)... though I did question the thinking behind supporting a door with a ground mounted vice... I'm sure it can be done (the video showed it), but I certainly thought it was pushing boundaries. I thought I should try to balance the odds a tad... and maybe the boffins a Stanley might offer me a free cheap cask of vino. Treat it as a competent light weight that may outperform expectations and you would be pleasantly surprised.
