Eraa Naapai - Mukhari - Adi - Patnam Subramania Iyer

Happy Birthday Ambi! Many many more happy returns of the day! I want to share a composition titled 'Eraa Naapai' that I recorded with Ambi. It is an Adi tala varnam in the raga Mukhari composed by Patnam Subramania Iyer (1845–1902). Mukhari is a richly emotional raga that evokes softer sentiments like devotion, sorrow, and peace. It has six notes in the ascending (in a zig-zag order) and in the descending, all the notes appear in the right order.
