North Ave (IL Rte 64) WB, Harlem Ave (IL Rte 43) to I-355 (Lombard, IL) | VirtualRoad

**Best viewed in 1080p60 or 720p60 Welcome to another VirtualRoad trip! Continuing west from where we left off last time at Harlem Ave (IL Rte 43), we pass through many of the inner-most west suburbs of Chicago (time stamps listed below). As we progress westward, after the Des Plaines River the road almost becomes a quasi-expressway since it is so busy in this area. You'll even see when we reach Mannheim Rd (U.S. Rtes 12 & 45), that we pass under it instead of cross it at-grade since doing a traffic signal there would require a very large intersection and there are major space limitations around there. After passing under I-294 and I-290 into Elmhurst, the road gets greener and becomes more like your typical suburban multilane road very much like Ogden Ave in Western Springs or Naperville or Roosevelt Rd in Wheaton. Once we pass Kingery Hwy (IL Rte 83) and the Salt Creek, we enter Villa Park where North Ave becomes like a quasi-expressway except with fewer signals than it Melrose Park and Northlake. The road remains like this all the way to St. Charles (we'll get there next week). We stop at I-355 where we will continue westward next week. Enjoy the ride!
