Come with me on a walk through Opa-locka, Florida, a city known for its distinctive Moorish Revival architecture. Founded in the 1920s, Opa-locka was designed around an Arabian Nights-inspired vision, reflected in its architecture, street names, and historic landmarks. On this walk, I explore some of the city’s Moorish-inspired buildings and stop along the route to take a closer look at the historical markers and architectural details. This is a first-person walk through the city as I encountered it — documenting the buildings, the streets, and the pieces of history along the way.
