Punch the monkey waiting for the zookeeper

Here are Punch and the older monkeys. They’re eagerly awaiting the zookeeper’s arrival. 🐒 About Punch the Japanese Macaque Punch is a male baby Japanese macaque living at Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. He was born on July 26, 2025. Shortly after birth, Punch was abandoned by his mother and was hand-raised by zookeepers. To comfort him, keepers gave him an IKEA Djungelskog orangutan plush toy, which he treated like a surrogate mother. By February 2026, he relied less on the plush toy and started socializing with adult macaques.
