Hello everyone.
Let me tell you a story. A story about a man who always brought joy to everyone by being there for others, seeing their pain and suffering, and doing everything in his power to make everyone feel good. Until that one morning.
That morning, the man woke up and wondered why he was alive. He remembered all the good things he had done, all the joy he had given, and the people he had made happy. But in the end, nothing remained but emptiness within himself.
The man wondered if it was his destiny to be selfless and to care for others. He wondered if there wouldn't come a moment when he himself could no longer give joy. When he was empty, and had given everything. What would he do then? Why should he still be alive? This question circled in his mind that morning, and he simply couldn't find an answer.
He sat down at his table and drank his morning coffee, ate his cereal, and looked around him. His kitchen was bare and almost empty. There was his old cupboard, where his plate, cup, and pot resided. The old, grimy stove stood next to the yellowed sink, its limescale deposits impossible to remove. Suddenly, the sun peeked through his kitchen window. He smiled and stood up.
As he stepped through the door to the garden, the sun cast its warm light on his face. It felt wonderful, so pure and bright. And now he also took in the many birds and their chirping. So harmonious and unique. A symphony for his battered soul. And then it suddenly dawned on him: This is the source of his joy and his energy. All the beautiful things around him, everything we take for granted. The warm sun, the colorful flowers, the many different birds with their cheerful melodies. He had simply forgotten that all these things were there. He had forgotten that nature gives us all this for free, so that we have a reason to live.
' ... It was important to me to share this little story with you today. Who is this man? Everyone and no one. That's left up to the reader. The important thing is that my music, too, is something nature has given us to bring us all joy. The notes are already there. I'm just putting them together.
As you probably know, today marks the 7th anniversary of my first long Volca Bass Jam from 2019, which changed everything for me. Without that jam, this channel wouldn't exist, I'm convinced of it.
That's why I want to celebrate this day with another 45-minute jam.
This jam, however, is a little different from the previous ones. Never before have I felt so acutely lacking in ideas, never before have I felt so empty inside during a jam. You'll hear that clearly in the first 20 minutes. But I didn't give up, and I silenced the inner voice that wanted to stop me from continuing. Thankfully, because at a certain point I rediscovered my inner strength and flow. I stopped thinking about whether it was good or not, whether there were any mistakes; I simply let myself drift, just like I used to.
And I'm so glad I did.
The foundation for this jam is, as always:
1 Volca Bass
1 Behringer Mixer
1 Specular Reverb v3
All my gear was powered by solar energy today!
