Guest mix: [moosdohmen] for MLD

When you're into ambient music you should definetly check out this: My next guest is [moosdohmen], a modular artist from Utrecht, Netherlands. We know each other for quite a while through social media. He is a contributor of my MLD compilations and we played together in the try out line up for the silent sessions in Berlin last year in August. I invited him to represent his modular craft art with a mix on my channel and I'm happy he contributed with this fantastic set! Moos is a producer of live modular dubs and drones. He combines dub, lo-fi ambient and drone elements to create his own blend. He performs with a 7U modular setup, Torso T1/S4, guitar FX pedals, and Elektron Syntakt and Pulsar 23 analog drum machines. Since 2023 he has done modular livesets at Paradiso Amsterdam, ADE, Vondelbunker, Ruigoord, OT301, Modulation Utrecht, Dutch Modular Fest, Doka Amsterdam, Waveforms, Ruis Festival (with FreakedMusic), ElektrikCafe Arnhem, Zeeplab, POM Eindhoven, and in Berlin and Cologne, Germany. Together with Paul Alstein he did live ambient dub sets in Amersfoort and Zeeplab. In the past few years he has done live streams for New York Modular Society, Colorado Modular Synth Society, and Modular World. He also did podcasts for the Ambient Vault and Data Cult Audio series. Many of the tracks in this mix were recorded on the Dutch isle of Vlieland. It’s a quiet and inspiring place I visit every year. I bring as much equipment as I can carry and spend the whole week creating new material. The mix starts off with a few recent ambient tracks. Modular loopers and granular samplers are my favourite devices. From there slow dub vibes start to come in.
