Just What Is A 7Fold Tie?

I was in Dillard's and noticed they were selling Daniel Cremieux 7 fold ties for $120. These ties are part of their Signature Collection with each tie labeled as Limited Edition and numbered accordingly. I decided to do some digging and find out what other 7 fold ties are offered on the open market. That led me to an ebay purchase of 3 ties from 3 brands with one tie being dissected to see what the 7 folds tie is all about. The results reveal some surprising differences in construction methods.
