20/7/20 Police Standoff-Wanted Male At Height-Southall Fire Station, High Street, Southall, UB1

A 37-year-old man from Hanwell, Leon Joseph, has been detained indefinitely in a secure mental health unit after being found guilty of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility for killing his father and carrying out a series of random assaults. Police were called to Joseph's flat on Elfwine Road on 20 July 2020, where they found his father, 60-year-old Glenroy Joseph, dead from multiple stab wounds and severe head injuries. After fleeing the scene, Joseph was captured on CCTV discarding his clothes before collapsing on Glade Lane, where paramedics attended. He later left hospital and attacked three members of the public — a bus driver, a jogger, and an elderly man leaving a mosque. When officers attempted to arrest him, Joseph ran to Southall Fire Station, climbed onto the roof, and remained there overnight before being detained at around 7am on 21 July.
