What colour is a polar bear's fur, really? What do the letters SOS actually stand for? One hundred general knowledge questions everyone should know - but can you really get all of them? HOW IT WORKS Every question is read aloud and stays on screen for ten seconds. There are no options to pick between, so the answer has to come from memory. Then the answer appears with a picture. Keep count as you go. WHAT'S IN THIS QUIZ Geography and landmarks: the city that was called Bombay until 1995, a giant city split between Europe and Asia, the canal that lets ships skip Africa, the country named after silver, the island with more people than any other, and landmarks, a flag and famous faces to recognise from a photo. History: a city that fell to a wooden horse, the largest land empire in history, a general who crossed the Alps with war elephants, the first two climbers on top of Everest, the Virgin Queen and what was buried with China's first emperor. Science, space and the body: how long sunlight takes to reach Earth, the comet that returns every 76 years, the space telescope that needed glasses, the muscle behind your hiccups, what space does to an astronaut's height, the first cloned mammal and a material just one atom thick. Animals and nature: the bird that turns its head 270 degrees, a loyal dog who waited nine years at a station, the true colour of a polar bear's fur and a plant that eats insects. Films, TV, music and books: the town of Hawkins, Indiana, the first Marvel film, the time traveller with the TARDIS, a mob boss in therapy, the best-selling girl group ever, a novel that begins 'Call me Ishmael' and the teenager who wrote Frankenstein. Food, words and sport: what tiramisu really means, the dessert named after a ballerina, what the letters in IKEA and SOS stand for, the leader's jersey in the Tour de France and the chess piece that only moves diagonally. Plus two word connections, an anagram, a zoom-in and two film stills. HOW HARD IS IT? Everyone should know these - most people get the first twenty without thinking. The question is how close you get to one hundred. HOW TO PLAY No googling. Count your correct answers and leave your score in the comments.
