Delhi protest | EMERGENCY-யின் நிழலில் இந்தியா? | DECODE

#cjpprotest #modi #gyaneshkumar #emergency Amid allegations of irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, students, youth groups and opposition parties have launched a massive protest in Delhi, demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and calling for his resignation. The Central Government is facing severe criticism for allegedly attempting to suppress the protests by deploying the Delhi Police and paramilitary forces. Critics have drawn parallels between the current crackdown and the Emergency imposed during Indira Gandhi’s tenure in 1975, arguing that the restrictions on protests and the alleged suppression of dissent are reminiscent of that dark chapter in Indian democracy. Against this backdrop, the Decode programme examines the allegations of electoral irregularities, the government’s response to the protests, the role of the police and paramilitary forces, and the similarities and differences between the present situation and the Emergency of 1975. ## Video Credits: Host : Palaniappan Camera : Hariharan T.
