Fallout’s Man-Made Horrors: The Darkest Creations | Complete Lore Super mutants, ghouls, deathclaws, synths. The wasteland blames the bombs, but every one of them started with a person signing a form. Radiation gets the credit, yet each horror traces back to a decision made in a lab, a boardroom, or a military bunker years before the first warhead fell. It starts with West Tek and the Pan-Immunity Virion Project, a promise to cure every disease that became the Forced Evolutionary Virus and got buried under Mariposa. From there the trail runs through the vats that made the Master, the Vault-Tec experiments that treated sealed populations as instruments, the deathclaws bred as living weapons, and the Institute's synths grown to pass for human. Along the way you meet the Think Tank, the Sierra Madre's Cloud, the Scorched Plague of Appalachia, and the executives who saved the one honest vault for themselves. What ties the FEV vats, the vaults, Big MT, and the Institute together isn't chaos. It's the same certainty repeating across two centuries, people convinced they knew what life should have been and willing to rebuild it whether it consented or not. Fawkes, Marcus, and the runaway synths are the ones who broke that pattern, and their choices sharpen the harder question the wasteland keeps asking.
