The Siege of Angband - [EpicFantasySongs]

LYRICS: ------------- [Verse 1] Fingolfin marched beneath the starry light, The Noldor gathered, sworn to fight, Around black Angband they formed their line, While Morgoth watched from halls malign. [Chorus 1] Raise the banners, bright and high, Let Morgoth hear the battle cry, From Mithrim's shores to Beleriand's land, The Eldar close around Angband, With Fingon, Maedhros side by side, They swear that darkness shall not hide. [Verse 2] Maedhros was freed from torment's chain, Yet sons of Fëanor bore their pain, The Union held through grief and flame, And Morgoth cursed each Elven name. [Chorus 2] Long years passed beneath the sun, The siege endured, the war was won, No Orc could cross the guarded way, While hidden fires were held at bay, But deep below, in caverns grim, Morgoth forged new hate within. [Verse 3] Then Glaurung rose with burning breath, And Dagor Bragollach dealt out death, The flames broke forth across the plain, And Beleriand knew fear again. [Chorus 3] O Fingolfin, proud and bright, He rode alone into the night, Before dark Morgoth's iron throne, The High King stood, yet stood alone, Though shadow struck and hope grew thin, His name rang loud through Angband's din. [Verse 4] Fingolfin fell, yet Morgoth bled, And Turgon mourned the mighty dead, The Siege was broken, hope withdrew, As fire consumed the northern view. [Chorus 4] From Hithlum's fields the shadows spread, For countless Elves and Men lay dead, The gates of Angband opened wide, And darkness swept the countryside, Yet through the grief, the stars still shone, For courage lived though hope had flown. [Final Chorus] Raise the banners, though they fall, Remember those who gave their all, Fingolfin's name shall never die, Beneath the ever-burning sky, Though Morgoth ruled from Angband's throne, The light endured in hearts of stone.
