This is a living, flying tribute to the RAF's finest aircraft from the late 1930s to the mid-1940s. 🛩 Aircraft Histories: 🟦 Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc – AR501 Built in 1942, this variant of the iconic Spitfire was designed for adaptability with its "universal" C-wing, capable of mounting multiple weapon configurations. AR501 served with No. 310 (Czech) Squadron during World War II and was later used by the Air Fighting Development Unit at RAF Duxford. It was later relegated to training duties before being rediscovered and restored in the 1990s. Today, it remains one of the few surviving aircraft to have actually fought in the skies over southern England in 1940.
