Is it REALLY jealousy—or are we sometimes assuming we know what another person is thinking? In today's Drea Reacts, we're having a real conversation about JEALOUSY: jealousy in friendships, jealousy in the workplace, hidden competition, workplace bullying, exclusion, insecurity, changing energy, and what happens when someone close to you seems uncomfortable with your growth. We're reacting to four different perspectives on how jealousy can show up—from the friend whose energy suddenly changes when you're doing well, to workplace power dynamics, social exclusion and “imaginary beef,” to jealousy within friendships and families. And I have some thoughts. 👀 Some of these conversations hit close to home for me because I've personally experienced difficult workplace dynamics. But we're also going to add some nuance: Can you really KNOW someone is jealous based on a look or an energy shift? Can a good friend occasionally experience jealousy and still genuinely love you? What's the difference between feeling jealous and acting out of jealousy? And do you actually need to know WHY someone mistreats you before deciding their behavior isn't healthy for you? In this reaction, we're talking about: • Signs of jealousy • Jealousy in friendships • Workplace jealousy and competition • Workplace bullying and power dynamics • Exclusion and group dynamics • “Imaginary beef” and controlling the narrative • Insecurity vs. jealousy • Silent competition • Jealousy between friends and family • Boundaries and protecting your peace • Discernment vs. assumption • Why someone's behavior matters even when you don't know their motive One of my biggest takeaways: You don't have to know WHY someone repeatedly mistreats you before you give yourself permission to create distance. Maybe it's jealousy. Maybe it's insecurity. Maybe it's competition. Maybe they simply don't like you. You don't have to diagnose the motive to respond to the behavior. 💬 QUESTION OF THE DAY: Can someone genuinely love you and still be jealous of you? And when does normal human jealousy cross the line into something that would make YOU end a friendship? Let me know your perspective in the comments. 👇🏾 🎥 ORIGINAL CREATORS / CONTENT FEATURED 1. @thequinbeeshow Topic: Three Signs Someone Is Jealous of You Original Instagram Reel: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVhlvOhju0c... 2. @shakiramariame Topic: Workplace bullying, power dynamics, insecurity & microaggressions Original Instagram Reel: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DWbw-HMErSe... 3. @Mr.BlakeW Topic: Three Things People Do When They're Jealous of You — Part 4 Original Instagram Reel: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbpLa7QuiDw... 4. @FredJoeJones Topic: Jealousy in friendships & family relationships Original Instagram Reel: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZPlrltuRyf...
