Many times adolescents may feel heard but not necessarily listened to in their family environment. This may be particularly true in families with a history of trauma and/or family violence. This dramatized therapy session with Al Killen-Harvey, LCSW will demonstrate several approaches for therapists to take that may allow adolescents to feel more invested in the family therapy process. Critical decision points in the session will be highlighted particularly as they relate to developmental trauma and explored from various perspectives including that of the therapist as well as the family members. --- Welcome to the Center for the Treatment of Developmental Trauma Disorders (CTDTD) — a national center committed to transforming care for children and families impacted by trauma.
