The Underground Railroad Quilt Sampler Sew Along #undergroundrailroad #quilting #quiltpatterns #blackhistory Happy MLK day as I call it “Happy Martin Luther the King Day” & today’s the perfect day to discuss the Underground Railroad Quilt Sampler SAL, because Dr Martin Luther King fought to maintain the Freedoms of not only FREED SLAVES, but for all MEN & WOMEN. Today we’ll kick off Underground RR Sampler and it’s most famous Conductor, Harriet Tubman who lead over 13 missions who saved over 70 slaves to freedom via (URR is the network of abolitionists and safe houses to Ohio or Canada) and Safe Houses were know as train “stations” the guides like were known as Conductors. Now let’s go over supplies, book (spiral), interfacing (optional), fabric/yardage, block sizes, quilt code block & potential layout/sashing of quilt and on the last day we'll go over labeling and provide slideshow if anyone has completed their quilt top. Starting Jan 30th, 2025 and every Thursday in Feb 2025, to help celebrate Black History Month, we will work on Underground RR quilt blocks ... each week we will make 3 - 4 blocks per week and then put it all together Thursday, Feb 27th.
