*My hope was never in the road, Lord. It was You.*
After more than 600 parachute jumps and 21 years of military service, I've learned something about faith.
You can prepare for the jump. Check your equipment. Trust your training. Wait for the green light.
But eventually, you have to step off the ramp.
And you don't always know what's waiting on the other side.
*Just Enough for One More Day* is a song about that leap—and the much harder leaps we sometimes face when life doesn't follow the plans we've made.
I've spent years building dreams, setting goals, and trying to chart a course for my family and the people I love. And more than once, I've watched those plans fall apart.
Doors closed. Roads ended. Things I thought were blessings disappeared.
But looking back, I've begun to recognize something extraordinary.
Some of the roads I never wanted to travel brought me blessings I never could have planned.
And sometimes God didn't give me the answers I wanted.
He gave me just enough faith to take the next step.
**"When the plans I've made all turn to dust,
You're still the One in whom I trust."**
The heart of this song is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Imagine those who followed Him standing outside a sealed tomb, believing everything they'd hoped for had come to an end.
But the story wasn't over.
The stone was rolled away.
The grave was empty.
And what appeared to be the end became the beginning of something greater than they could have imagined.
If God could bring life out of that darkness, perhaps we can trust Him with the roads we cannot yet see.
This song isn't about having an unshakable faith or knowing what tomorrow will bring.
It's about recognizing that God has been faithful through yesterday, and trusting Him enough for today.
**"I've seen enough to know it's true.
My hope was never in the road, Lord, it was You."**
If you're facing an uncertain future, a closed door, a broken dream, or a leap you're afraid to take, I hope this song encourages you.
You don't have to see the whole road.
Sometimes you just need enough faith for the next step.
*Just enough for one more day.*
