Bands stripped arrangements down to a tight rhythm section and let the groove do the talking: a deep bass line, drums playing around the beat with ghost notes, congas, and keyboards like the Fender Rhodes electric piano and the clavinet. Jazz harmony crept into the chords, solos stretched out, and singers often sounded more conversational than powerful. Musicians describe this feeling of everyone locked together as being "in the pocket". This track is an original composition inspired by that sound, not a recreation of any specific song.
