Stahlfeder is one of the more curious shooters on the PlayStation 1. It’s a vertical shmup that's locked into a 4:3 yoko mode, with zero horizontal scrolling and early low‑poly 3D bosses that probably looked unimpressive even in 1996. The gameplay also lands squarely in “meh” territory, with the boss fights being some of the most mechanical and low‑effort encounters I've seen on the system. That said, it's not all bad. Some of the enemy waves are fun to dodge and the soundtrack is genuinely great.
The playthrough unfortunately abruptly ends after beating the final boss. It seems my PS2 decided to freeze before the end credits could roll.
