The Castellows - Ways To Go at Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Canada on July 17, 2025

Yay!!! The Castellows playing my home town :) I've done A LOT of travelling to see them play (Ann Arbor, Cleveland, Fort Worth, Shreveport, Sarnia, Malone, Jordan, Statesboro, Milledgeville, Buffalo, Jacksonville/Clay County, New Orleans, and Dothan) - planes, trains and automobiles! This was a 30 commuter train ride to Toronto's Exhibition Stadium GO Station and a walk to Ontario Place where Budweiser Stage is. With construction rebuilding Ontario Place and a weekend Indy Car race coming the Toronto traffic was extra sucky - 45 minutes to talk to Ontario Place form the station. But that is wee little first world problem IMHO, and all worth it. This was a short set of 7 songs as the opening act, but it felt like more because the energy was so high. Lily, Ellie and Powell work the catwalk, Lily signs boots, and the gents (aka The Castfellows) also come out on the catwalk too. Now I was sitting back in the stands (my home boss who attended gets woozy standing at concerts so it was assigned seats instead of my usual up front GA standing approach). So I'm zoomed in on my Pixel for these and so sorry it can be a bit shaky. Another first work problem .. really not a problem at all. This is a fan channel, not MTV, or MuchMusic, right? As I've noted before ‪@thecastellows‬ Ways To Go is such a high energy song its no wonder that it was the show opener for their first headlining tour. I think that is because of the great energy and maybe Lily back in boots with 'club wear' instead of barefoot with swirly dresses that we have seen lately. Like Donnie and Marie, she's a little bit country and a little bit rock n' roll (sorry I'm dating myself with that one) Great style as always. PPS - The Budweiser stage is a modern venue and will be rebuilt with the new Ontario Place https://www.infrastructureontario.ca/... The Castellows can come back and headline at the new venue. older Toronto folks will remember The Forum stage that Bud replaced. It was a small circular rotating stage surrounded by grass hills. Fond memories of that with seeing Blue Rodeo play every summer, and every band you could imaging from Lava Hay, Colin James, Northern Pikes, B.B. King, The Captain and Tennille!!!!! My wife/GF at the time even set up our best friends at the Captain and Tennille show and whey are married with children now. See the magic this place brings. When Pearl Jam played The Forum people camped out for free on the surrounding islands berms just outside the venue and Eddy had them shine the lights back to them and sang a song to them.
