At 08:37 on 26 August 2026, a piece of the Lirung massif more than a kilometre wide broke away above the Lhende river on the Nepal–China border. Thirty-eight minutes later, the first SMS alert reached phones in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Chitwan. This is the story of the Bhotekoshi–Trishuli flood: a river that had already warned us one year earlier, a school in Bidur that got fourteen minutes, and what the satellites saw before the mountain fell. 🎧 Also in Hindi: Settings (gear icon), then Audio track.
