Everyone talks about the latch, the schedule, and the pump. Almost nobody talks about the emotional side of breastfeeding — what it actually does to the mother.
This is the honest version. Not the polished, soft-light one. The real one: the power, the exhaustion, the tenderness, the anger, and the quiet refusal to let other people's opinions take something precious from you.
I share the part of my own breastfeeding journey I don't usually say out loud — the painful, shallow latch with my first baby, the weeks I wondered if my body was failing me, and the moment I realized the problem was never my milk. We go into the things no one prepares you for: how breastfeeding can affect your marriage and your libido (yes, prolactin is real), why the "you should stop, he's too old" comments say more about the culture than about you, and why so many mothers who could breastfeed are quietly sabotaged instead of supported.
If you're a mother who wants to breastfeed — or wants to keep breastfeeding a baby or a toddler — I made this for you. You're allowed to want this. You're allowed to protect it.
