WHAT THIS IS
Green noise has no standard definition; it is usually described as the background noise of the world, a hiss centred in the middle of the hearing range. Here it is white noise through a second-order band-pass centred at 500 Hz (Q = 0.7): its power peaks at 500 Hz and falls by 6 dB per octave either side. Measured on this file: the peak at 527 Hz and 574 Hz (left, right), the skirts +6.0 and -6.1 dB per octave.
HOW IT WAS MADE
Ten hours generated by this channel's own code from a seed (seed 148, streams 6 and 7) — nothing recorded, nothing fetched, no sample library. Two independent channels at 48 kHz, so the left and right ears hear different noise of the same colour. White Gaussian noise through a second-order band-pass centred at 500 Hz, Q = 0.7. A five-second fade at each end. Loudness measured on the finished file: -23.0 LUFS integrated, true peak -10.9 dBTP, loudness range 0.1 LU. Duration 10:00:00.
This describes what the noise is and how it was made. It makes no claim about what it does for anyone.
Every figure above was measured on the finished file, not assumed.
