Speak French Faster: Listen, Repeat, Then Shadow (B2 to C1)

French shadowing practice for B2 and C1 learners, and for B1 learners who are ready to stretch a little. Today's passage is about les préparatifs de voyage. Most shadowing videos give you one pass and wish you luck. We do three, always in the same order, because that order is what makes the words stay. 1. Écoute et lis. You listen and read at the same time, in silence. No speaking yet. This is where the meaning and the rhythm settle in together. 2. Écoute et répète. Phrase by phrase, with room to breathe. This is the part that builds the muscle. The liaisons are marked in the text, so you can see exactly where the words link before you try to say them. 3. Shadow at natural speed. You speak along with me, in real time, no pauses. Part 3 is fast, and that is on purpose. If it feels like too much, use the settings wheel and drop the speed to 0.75x, or loop that section and run it three or four times. Slowing down is not cheating. It is how the mouth learns.
