After many hours of flying, I have come to the conclusion that mountainous terrain makes descent and vectoring much more "unaligned" than regular descents over flat land. First waypoint (E1) can and will spawn much lower than it's supposed to, and if you don't react fast enough, or approach too high, your many patient hours of flying can become a costly disaster.
