The Parking Ticket That Ended the Son of Sam Manhunt | True Crime Stories for Sleep 2 HOURS of Strangely Calm TRUE Crime Stories for Sleep ► NO ADS Two calm true crime stories for sleep, told slowly over steady rain and a black screen. Settle in, close your eyes and let the narration carry you through the night. Case One: New York, the summer of 1977. For more than a year a night gunman who called himself Son of Sam has outrun a task force of two hundred detectives, and the city has stopped parking after dark. Then, a little after two in the morning on a humid Brooklyn street, a patrol officer writes a thirty-five dollar ticket, and a widow walking her small dog sees a young man walk past the cars. Case Two: The Colorado foothills, February 1960. A milk driver finds a station wagon standing on a narrow timber bridge, engine running, radio playing, nobody inside. A typed note asks for half a million dollars and a classified ad for a tractor. The ad runs, and the telephone never rings. Based on real cases. Names and some details have been changed.
