Painting the End of Summer - Ohio Prairie Plein Air Painting

Original Painting Available on my website at https://www.andrewluden.com/shop/p/mc... Went out to McCammon Creek Park again, this time to the North area. There's a great mix of wide open rolling fields mixed in with the old field wind breaks and a small pond and ravine area. I found a nice scene to paint in one of the restored prairies, the last of the flowers were in bloom and the grasses were just starting to turn towards yellow and brown. It made for a great contrast to the treeline and bright blue September sky. I'm very happy with how this painting turned out, putting just a bit more thought into build up the paint layer made it much easier to get a lot more detail and depth of value. Plein air is always a challenge, but this one was a fun challenge! Hope you enjoy!
