The slow movement conveys one of those beautiful lyric moments that are sprinkled on Kapustin's vast output, with a placid climate created by suggestive harmonies - but also an exhilarating presto central section. The delirious finale collects impressions from its predecessors, although some recurrent rhythmic sequences confer its own character on this third movement.
