The college was formerly known as Dr. M. A. Wazed Miah Textile Engineering College before being renamed in February 2025.  Overview Affiliation: RTEC is affiliated with the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). Campus: The college is located in a pleasant environment in the Pirganj Upazila of the Rangpur District.  Departments The college offers a B.Sc. in Textile Engineering with a specialization in one of four departments:  Yarn Engineering: Focuses on the conversion of fibers into yarn. Fabric Engineering: Concerned with developing fabric experts and infrastructure. Apparel Engineering: Focuses on industrial textile manufacturing and the garment industry. Wet Process Engineering: Includes practical programs related to dyeing and finishing textiles.  Admission and academics Admission: Admission is based on a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) entrance exam covering Physics, Chemistry, Higher Math, and English. In each academic session, a total of 120 students are admitted, with 30 students per department. Eligibility: Admission requirements include a GPA of at least 4.00 in SSC and 4.50 in HSC, with a minimum combined grade point of 18.50 in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and English.
