EVERYTHING BROKE AT ONCE! CVs, Tailshaft, Smashed panels - BUDGET 4WDs vs. INSANE Coffs 4WD Tracks!

Two snapped axles, both doors dented and a 30-year-old Land Rover on the winch. Jock McDonald and Jesse Gleeson drive Morbid Trail and Commando Trail in the Coffs Harbour hinterland, NSW. Jock has just bought himself a 1990s Land Rover Discovery 300Tdi, so Jesse left the Patrol at home and dragged Clifford the Suzuki Sierra out of the shed instead. Two mostly stock rigs, wet clay and a scoreboard neither of them can keep track of. First up is Morbid Trail, a long steep run up the side of a mountain with a technical pinch every few hundred metres. Jock has new Kumho tyres and an Ultra Winch on the front. Jesse has 28-inch tyres and no lockers. It doesn't take five minutes for the first doors to go in, and it gets worse from there. Tank's twin-locked Kincrome 79 Series lets go of a front CV and a rear axle on the same rock step, and the only reason the trip keeps rolling is a 79 carrying every Kincrome tool and spare part needed to rebuild an axle track side. Josh brings the T.C Boxes Jeep Gladiator, Blake the Tough Dog 80 Series and Dave the Offroad Animal Raptor. By the top of Morbid there is a folded mirror, a bent snorkel, a bull bar that needs panel beating, a busted uni joint in Clifford's rear driveline, a Discovery towing a Zook up a hill, an Oricom wireless reversing camera earning its keep, and a bonfire back at Coffs Harbour Camping & 4WD to end the day. Day two is Commando Trail — full noise, washed out and the track that makes an honest man out of both of them. Full-floating axles get a workout, which means a rear axle swap without jacking the 4WD up or pulling a wheel off. Rock packing gets the Jeep through without a winch, and the Raptor rolls a bead off the rim and gets it back on with a high-lift jack off the bull bar. Then the rain sets in, which is a whole other problem.
