Step back into Japanese television at the end of the 1990s with a completely raw transfer from an original S-VHS taped in 1997.  There are **no edits, no cuts, and no attempt to reorganize or curate the commercials**. What was recorded on the tape is what you’ll see here, in the same order it survived. That also means repeats are possible. Commercials may appear more than once, sequences may feel unusual, and the recording may contain the little imperfections and quirks you’d expect from an original analog tape. Rather than turning the footage into a modern compilation, I wanted to preserve the experience of finding an old S-VHS tape and simply pressing PLAY. These commercials offer a fascinating snapshot of everyday Japan during the late 1990s.
