Plant Profile: Eight rare & unusual oaks!

This week on The Horti-Culturalists we're visiting Roseberry, the wonderful private garden of Ruth & Barry Murphy at Pipers Creek, to the north west of Melbourne, to look at SOME of the incredible collection of oaks that Barry has collected and planted there! There are over 100 species of oak in the collection and over 700 trees! Now you might remember our previous visit to this garden looking at some unusual flowering plants and you can see that video here:    • Garden Tour: A plant collectors wild garden!   But today we're only looking at a few of the over 700 oaks in the collection and they are: Quercus suber - the Cork Oak Quercus rubra 'Aurea' Quercus robur 'Purpurea' Quercus robur 'Concordia' - Quercus robur 'Aurea' Quercus robur 'Pectinata' or Quercus robur 'laciniata' Quercus rugosa Castanopsis sclerophylla - which is NOT an oak but looks like one! Quercus acuta Quercus palustris The garden is sometimes open as part of this program: https://www.visitmacedonranges.com/ev...
