I spent the night alone in the Tunisian wilderness 🇹🇳 — deep in the mountains of Beni M’Tir, near the Tunisia–Algeria border. This was one of the most unusual adventures I’ve had in Tunisia. I stayed alone in a small treehouse surrounded by forests and mountains, explored the area, collected supplies, built a fire from scratch, cooked dinner, made traditional tea, and headed out to fish for a native North African fish found in the river systems of this region. As night fell, everything changed. The temperature dropped, the forest became completely different, and the sounds of the wilderness started coming alive around me.
