Here is the clear and simple guide up to activating your virtual environment:
Step 1: Verify Python Installation
Open your terminal (or Command Prompt) and check if Python is installed on your computer:
Bash
python --version
(If Python is installed successfully, it will display your version number. If it gives an error, make sure Python is installed and added to your system PATH).
Step 2: Create a Virtual Environment
Navigate to your working folder in the terminal and run this command to create a virtual environment named venv:
Bash
python -m venv venv
Step 3: Activate Your Virtual Environment
Before installing Django, you must activate your virtual environment using the command for your operating system:
On Windows (Command Prompt / PowerShell):
Bash
venv\Scripts\activate
On Mac / Linux:
Bash
source venv/bin/activate
