Katie's Story: Complex injuries from a ski accident

Katie LaPierre is a nurse who works in the ER. As the result of a skiing accident, she had multiple complex injuries to her spine, ribs, and kidney. As she lay on the ground waiting for help she performed her own medical assessment and when she couldn't move her legs knew that her injuries were serious. Katie's positive attitude contributed to the amazing progress she made throughout her rehab at Gaylord and she was able to walk out of Gaylord under her own powers. Katie is looking forward to her wedding this October.
