BNSF, Amtrak & Metra in Downers Grove, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale IL 12/19/25 (collab w @MetraBNSF)

On the afternoon of December 19 2025 we focus on rail traffic in the villages of Downers Grove, Clarendon Hills, and Hinsdale, IL. This was an intermodal heavy day with five Q or Z intermodals between 3:45pm and 6:00pm although not every train was captured. The highlight of the day was a three train sequence within five minutes in Hinsdale featuring an eastbound Metra, a westbound BNSF manifest with an H1 dash 9 in the lashup, and the eastbound Amtrak Southwest Chief coming from Los Angeles.
