We Hit Water Digging This Post Hole (Episode 23)

In this episode of Rendezvous Ranch, we pick up right where the last episode ended — with the FedEx package. After a quick look at what came in the mail, we get back to work on the old chicken lot. The plan for this episode is to set another treated 4x4 post beside the old chicken house, but this one gives us trouble right from the start. The ground is soft, the building roof is in the way, the siding makes it harder than expected, and the post is too tall for the spot. Then, while digging the post hole, we hit water. Rhonda also accidentally forgot to hit record during part of the struggle, so we had a little “please stand by” moment and explained what happened before finishing the post. I also respond to a helpful comment from one of the earlier videos about calling a post “plumb” instead of “level.” I do read the comments, and Rhonda and I really do appreciate everyone who watches and takes the time to comment. This is real life work in Appalachia — old buildings, post holes, mistakes, laughs, muddy ground, and slow progress as we bring this old chicken lot back to life.
